Frequency of Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy and its Various Grades in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Introduction: Cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) is a common and one of the major complication diabetes mellitus. It also most under diagnosed least understood diabetic complication4. Objective: To determine frequency cardiac its various grades in type 2 Study Design: Cross Sectional Study. Setting: Medical OPD as well from clinic Services Hospital, Lahore. Methodology: Total 195 patients either sex or age between 18 to 60 with at 10 years duration Diabetes Mellitus were enrolled. Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy was determined using Ewing’s criteria. Frequency CAN severity recorded. Result: Mean sampled population 54.42 ± 2.925 ranged 44 years. There 77 (39.5%) female 118(60.5%) (60.5%) male. Out 195, 99 (50.8%) had neuropathy, 34 (17.4%) early, 56 (28.7%) definite, 8 (4.1%) severe & 1 patient atypical neuropathy. associated advancing but gender no effect.
